Its great news that China is willing to come to the discussion table. Instead of having a debate over who causes pollution, developed vs developing, each country must chart out its plan, co-ordinate with other countries, offer and receive assistance in combating pollution. Developing countries generate a lot of pollution... But to balance that out, there aren’t many cars, usually bicycles.. The developed countries have the cars to cause pollution.. At the end of the day we are all responsible

Yeah, it is a good thing that finally we are talking about this thing rather than bitch about it. At least we are moving forward rather than moving backwards. Like Jaiyant said,

He is exactly right and we must do something about it. Walk to the store rather than drive, do things that don’t require these kinds of things if possible.

Its easier said than done Taylor.. people won’t walk. Very few would do. the answer lies in an efficient, sustainable and comfortable public transport system. Much of the pollution is caused by vehicular smoke by cars, auto-rickshaws (In south Asia) and two wheelers in South-east Asia.

You are right.. That is just a diplomatic way of washing ones hands off. They may ’discuss’ but they won’t reach a consensus or a solution. What is important is to develop awareness among people to use public transportation. That is the least we can do.

Anything that doesn’t require pollution I take it. I don’t even have my drivers license because I honestly don’t drive anywhere. I know how to drive and I drive when I must but rarely do I.

Hahaha, I’d like to see those. Are those those scooters you always see on the news when they talk about Asia?

You are right! Those are the scooters.. they look innocent but cause quite a lot of ruckus and smoke. And not to forget fatalities. It is extremely unsafe to ride two wheelers in Asian cities. Most don’t have silencers either. You can imagine the noise pollution they cause

Oh yes, I see what you mean. I didn’t know they were as loud as you say they are because really I thought they were like they are here. Not a lot of people ride them here though. But you are right, I can only imagine that amount of pollution, just like old 1980s cars lol.
