Hmm I think MS is officially losing sight of what ”The Customer” wants. I agree, I don’t want to be touching my monitor the entire time, I just want a system that’s fast, stable and efficient. Sometimes I could see why so many people are switching to macs now. I’m an XP guy at the moment, and it might be that way for a long time. When I heard they would most likely ”redefine” the system based on the current Vista platform, I was totally pissed. They saw the blunders of the current system and refuse to learn, instead they want to make it touchable...ooooui look, I can touch it...that’s only a fad people. What we need is a system that can handle tons of work and be consistent, but no, they can’t see that. I hate macs personally, but that’s where I may end up if they don’t step up. I have defended MS for years but you could only go on for so long.

You do have several points. Although, as long as I have XP I’m fine with everything. If Microsoft wants to go out and waste tons of money trying to figure out that we don’t want what they are making, then fine as long as they get the message in the end.

i totally agree with ,Taylor Flatt, as long as Xp is there no need of any other operating system (not even VISTA)with microsoft launch touch screen technology coming will burden out the user to buy out some gadgets which support touch screen tech......i hope microsoft understand this and try to figure out XP service’s

Yea I wish I could say that but look at Windows 98. I know a few people still use it and all but it has been forced out of the spotlight even though it was one most the most stable operating systems. If I had a choice I would have stayed but nooo....mother MS made me switch to XP because everything got too ”new” for it. I think the same will happen eventually and we would have to switch. But by then, I might be a mac user :P

Yeah but if you still had Windows ’98 then you couldn’t use a lot of programs out there or even games. Like you said, but I’m not going to move from XP and if they force me I’ll just move to Linux. Besides Microsoft has gone the wrong way to bringing us a stable, efficient OS. I think they need to come back and look at the XP and see why everyone likes it and build on that, not just addon to that.

Well exactly my point....the same will happen to XP...it will become outdated so soon...but that’s where I drop out :P

Well yeah, but Microsoft will finally see the point when no one does switch over to the new system they force you into. At least when you came from ’98 it wasn’t a bad drop at all. But from the XP upward, with where Microsoft is going, will be a massive fall. All the, sorry some older people, computer illiterate people out there will switch not knowing any better and all the computer geeks will just not switch over. Besides most of them have Linux or something not Windows. I can see myself changing in the future to Ubuntu or something.

Well I would still need to go Mac since I do a lot of Web Design and Graphics Works for my Marketing jobs. I’m kinda afraid of Linux, I dunno why, but maybe I would try it out one day. If I do ever buy a new laptop, I would put it on this system.

Well if you know someone who has a Linux system you ought to go to them and test it out and see how it works because it is really different from Windows. I’m definitely not buying a Mac even though I do do a lot of web design. I’m going to go Windows or Linux.

Personally I am a guy who hates fiddling with computer systems. I love tinkering and messing with web programming code but I like my computer systems to be reliable with great support so I rather have the mac where there is established support. I’m kinda lazy to look for this and that mod...haha...

Well Ubuntu, Linux, doesn’t have bad support. I mean you can find just about everything you need to know about Linux on the net and there are plenty of support forums. Same really with all the other Operating Systems. Although there is a lot of support, you are right about Mac. That is some top support especially since it was mainly a 3rd line product next to the main 2 other systems. Which really gave it person to person support rather than the crappy support tickets you deal with with Microsoft.
