If you are ever in need of changing your registry, then you should always back it up before you do that. He is a quick and simple way to do that and cover your bases.
1) Click Start
2) Click Run (Type: regedit)
3) Click File
4) Click Export
5) Save as backup.reg
6) Choose ALL for what you want to backup. (See Note)
Note: If you are more advanced at this than the average user, you can specify which registry to backup, but I recommend backing it all up just in case.
Then if you screwed up and you need to bring your old registry back, you can simply go through the steps above but instead of clicking export, click import. Then you just have to choose your saved file and import it and everything is back to normal.
If you have any problems with this or need help, just comment and I’ll help you through your problem. If this helped you out, go ahead and star it.
