I know this kind of stuff is over posted, but I didn’t find it here on Instablogs, so I decided to share it for those who might want to try it out.
1) Click Start
2) Click Run (Type: cmd)
3) In the prompt (Type ipconfig /release)
4) Tap Enter
5) Exit the Command Prompt
6) Click Start
7) Click Control Panel
8) Click Network and Internet Connections
9) Click Network Connections
10) Right click Local Area Connection
11) Click Properties
12) Double click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
13) Click on Use the following IP address
14) Create an IP address (See Note).
15) Press Tab and it should automatically fill in the Subnet Mask with default numbers
16) Hit the Ok
17) Hit the Ok
18) Go back to Local Area Connection Properties
19). Go back to the TCP/IP settings
20) Select Obtain an IP address automatically
21) Hit Ok
22) Hit Ok
You ought to have a new IP now. To check it do the following:
1) Click Start
2) Click Run (Type: cmd)
3) In the prompt (Type: ipconfig)
4) This should list your current IP and mask.
If it for some odd reason try the process again and if it fails again comment here and I’ll try to help you with your problem.
Note: It doesn’t really matter what you type here as long as you fill the box in.
