Another blunder by Atari. I can guarantee after the failure with the Bioshock SecuROM, this game will barely sell. Time and time again we have seen this software fail, and it doesn’t even hinder the pirates out there. It is just sad that Atari would even think of keeping it on there. Here is a statement from Atari;
This requires that in addition to the content on the game disk, players download an additional component via an internet connection in order to install and run the game. Once the game has been correctly installed and activated, it can be played whilst offline.
Here is also something they said about installing it on another computer (Sigh);
To install the game on a different computer, players must revoke the serial number when uninstalling from the first machine (this is an automatic option during the uninstall process).
This is definitely going to hurt the sales much much more than it would have helped to release it without. I have said that if someone was to make a quality game out there, I have talked to many torrenters that say they would buy the game if it was good enough out of respect. No one honestly wants to go through all the headaches they had to go through for Bioshock and like I said, it will only hurt them. Hopefully they will see this and remove the software before it hurts them too much.
