Sony boss Jack Tretton just confirmed that 1.8 million PS3s have been sold this year in the US. The company has sold 1.6 million PSPs, Tretton said, and 1.5 million PS2s have gone through retail.

SCEA just confirmed that Gran Turismo TV will launch on August 1, viewable through GT5 Prologue. The service will featur free and pay-per-view content, including things like a look into the Ferrari factory, car reviews, and more.

SCEA, speaking in its ongoing E3 press conference, has refused to put a date on the Home beta. Company boss Jack Tretton confirmed that EA, Activision, LucasArts and Nike have all been active in the Home beta so far.

SCEA just confirmed that the PS3 video store goes live tonight. The feature has just been shown in-depth, and includes streaming viewing while you download and the ability to house content on both PS3 and PSP at the same time.

Resistance Retribution has just been announced for PSP. A video for the game was shown, featuring climbing and third-person shooting. Aliens, cities, British woman talking about the chimera. Looked pretty cool.

SCEA just confirmed Super Stardust Portable for PSP. The info came as part of Sony’s ongoing E3 press conference. No date was given.

SCEA just demoed DC Universe Online on PS3, the first time an MMO has ever been seen running on the machine. SOE’s Jim Lee showed the game, which has been in the works for three years. It’s his “dream project,” apparently.

SCEA just confirmed that the 80Gb PS3 is to become the focus of its hardware line-up, and will offer the machine as its primary pack later this year for $399.
